PT Asuransi Asei Indonesia (Asei) is a subsidiary of PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) or called IndonesiaRe which was previously named PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero). The establishment of Asei is the result of the spin off of the insurance and reinsurance business of PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) in accordance with the OJK Permit No. KEP-121/D.05/2014 dated October 21, 2014, and the SOE Ministry Letter No. S-07/MBU/2014 dated January 8, 2014 concerning the Transformation of PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) into a Reinsurance SOE.
Historically, PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) was established in the framework of the Government’s commitment to spur national exports and promote economic development, so that PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) was established on November 30, 1985 through Deed No. 173 passed before Notary Achmad Bajumi, SH as a substitute for Notary Imas Fatimah, SH. In carrying out its business activities, PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) was first established to carry out the function of export insurance and export credit guarantees. Since 2002, PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero) has marketed 4 (four) products comprising Export Insurance, Credit Insurance, Guarantee/Suretyship, and General Insurance. Upon realization of the spin off, these activites can be fully conducted by Asei that commenced its operation on October 9, 2014.
